README.mdWhat is in the kit, and the shape of a good meeting. Start here.
1-checklist.mdWhat to do four weeks before, the week before, on the day and after.
2-agenda.mdA standard two-hour evening, a hack night, a reading group, an online meeting; the opening words.
3-announcements.mdWords to copy: the post, the reminder, the recap, asking for a speaker.
4-code-of-conduct.mdA short code of conduct to adopt or adapt.
5-online-and-hybrid.mdMeetings on meet.common-lisp.net, online and hybrid meetings done well.
6-newcomers.mdFrom nothing to a working REPL in ten minutes, and where to go next.
exercises.lispTen exercises for a hacking session, each with its tests: (ex:check).
exercises-solutions.lispOne answer to each exercise.
welcome-slides.htmlThe opening slides. Open in a browser, edit in a text editor.
printables.htmlA sign-in sheet, a lightning-talk sheet and a door sign, to print.
lisp-logo.pngThe Lisp logo, which the slides and the printables use.
LICENSEThe terms: CC BY 4.0, which asks only that you say where it came from.

The Markdown files open as pages of this site; the others open as they are. welcome-slides.html and printables.html need lisp-logo.png beside them, as in the download.

Using it

  1. Read the checklist first: it says what to do when, and points at the other files as they are needed.
  2. Post the meeting on the calendar, and on your group's own channels with the words in the announcements file.
  3. Edit the slides and the printables: open them in any text editor and replace everything in [brackets]. Open them in a browser to show or print them.
  4. Bring the exercises to the hacking part of the evening. Load exercises.lisp in any Common Lisp and call (ex:check).

The kit's home is clm/meeting-kit, the Common Lisp meetings group on this site's GitLab. If you ran a meeting with it and something was missing or wrong, an issue or a merge request there makes the next organizer's evening better.
