very nice! almost exactly what i had in mind (but hadn't gotten around

doesn't using ajax automatically mean you've given up back button support
anyway? as far as updates go i'd suggest just documentating that only the
current place gets updated (or providing a means of specifying what gets
updated) and not attempting to automatically figure it out.
